Autumn apple crisp recipe details
- Ingredients:
- 9 cups peeled, sliced apples (Cortland works well)
- 1-1/2 teaspoons grated lemon peel
- 2 teaspoons pure orange oil
- 3 Tablespoons Grand Marnier
- 1-1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- Topping:
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1-1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1-1/2 sticks cold butter, cut into pieces
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 9 x 13-inch glass baking dish. Mix apples with next six ingredients. Place in a baking dish. Prepare topping by mixing all in a food processor until crumbly. Spoon over apples.
Bake until topping is golden and apples are bubbling, about 45 to 50 minutes. Serve warm with a dollop of Creme Fraiche.
