Ingredients
Serves: 6- Meatballs
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 3/4 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons finely minced garlic
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
- all-purpose flour as needed
- canola oil for frying
- Sauce
- 1 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup minced onion
- Tabasco(R) sauce to taste
Preparation method
Prep: 25 mins | Cook: 1 hour | Extra time: 15 mins, chilling1. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Combine the meatball ingredients in a bowl until evenly blended. Roll into golf ball-sized meatballs and place onto the baking sheet. Freeze about 15 minutes to set the shape.
2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
3. Roll the meatballs in flour, then fry in about 1/2-inch of canola oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until golden brown. Place the meatballs into a baking dish once browned.
4. Whisk together the sauce ingredients and pour over the meatballs in the baking dish. Bake until the sauce is sticky and the meatballs are no longer pink on the inside, about 45 minutes.
