Aunt ruth's favorite elegant eggs recipe details
- Ingredients:
- 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 2 cans unmarinated artichoke hearts, drained and halved
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/3 cup flour
- 4 ounces grated Cheddar cheese
- 1 Tablespoon chopped onion
- 1 Tablespoon dry mustard
- Dash Tabascopepper sauce
- Fresh sliced mushrooms
- 1 dozen hard-boiled eggs (1-1/2 per person)
This dish allows a beautiful individual presentation a well — as elegant as my Aunt Ruth ever was!… former innkeeper Barbara Barlow
Stir butter, flour, and cheese over medium heat until melted. Add soup, milk, cheese, onion, and seasonings. Heat through. Carefully fold in sliced mushrooms and artichoke hearts. Serve in a chafing dish, to be spooned over hard-boiled eggs sliced diagonally. (If doubling, do not double milk.)
