Aunt pauline's pot pie recipe details
- Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- Dash salt
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1 egg
- Milk
- 2 potatoes, sliced
- 2 onions, sliced
- 1 pepper, sliced
- 1/2 pound bacon or ham, sliced
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 cup parsley, dried
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 Tablespoons paprika
To make the dough strips: mix together flour, salt , shortening, egg and enough milk to make ingredients stick together. Roll thin and cut into 1/2-inch strips. In a greased 9 x 13-inch casserole dish add ingredients. Divide into 2 equal layers the potato, onion, pepper, and bacon or ham. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with parsley. Add butter. Then top with dough strips. Cover with boiling water.
Bake covered in oven at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes or until top is browned.
