Apple wine cake recipe details
Ingredients
400 g | shortcrust pastry |
For the Filling: | |
800 ml | red wine |
4 medium | apples, peeled, finely chopped |
brown sugar | |
vanilla pudding powder | |
For the topping: | |
500 ml | whipping cream |
1 tsp | vanilla extract |
chopped almonds, for garnish, optional |
Instructions
Combine chopped apples and wine and bring to a boil. Cook for bout 2 minutes. Take apples out and set aside.Add brown sugar as needed to the boiled wine, to your taste.
Mix in as much pudding powder so that the mixture becomes creamy but not too thick. Bring to to a boil.
Remove wine pudding mixture and combine with the apple pieces.
Heat oven to 150°C.
Line a springform with the shortcrust pastry and pour wine pudding mixture inside. Even with a spoon. Bake for about 50-60 minutes.
Whip cream with the vanilla until stiff and put over cake when cooled. Garnish with chopped almonds, if desired.
