Ingredients
For the dough: | |
300 g | butter |
200 g | sugar |
1 tsp | vanilla extract, 1-2 tsp |
1 pinch(es) | salt |
5 | eggs |
300 g | flour |
2 tsp | baking powder |
100 g | ground almonds |
For the topping: | |
100 g | chopped almonds |
50 g | ground almonds |
100 g | fine candied sugar |
Instructions
For the dough:Whisk the butter until creamy. Trickle in sugar and salt and add vanilla extract. Add the eggs, one at a time. Combine flour and baking powder and sieve in. Fold in the ground almonds. Evenly divide the dough on a greased baking tray.
For the topping:
Mix the chopped and the ground almonds with the sugar and sprinkle the mixture evenly on top of dough. Bake the cake for approximately 35 minutes.
Transfer the baking tray on a wire rack and allow the cake to cool.
