This Kielbasa and Kraut recipe is quick and easy to make. The apple counteracts the onion to provide a delicious addition to the traditional German meal.

Ingredients

Serves: 4
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 1 medium tart apple, cut into small pieces
  • 1 small can Bavarian sauerkraut or regular kraut topped with caraway seeds
  • 1/2 pound cooked Polish Kielbasa
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation method

Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 20 mins

1. Saute the onion in the oil. Add the apple after a few minutes, then the sauerkraut. When everything is hot, add the kielbasa and leave it in long enough to heat to temperature. Serve!
