Winter chowder recipe details
Ingredients
1 tbsp | butter |
700 g | cabbage, shredded |
2 medium | carrots, peeled, sliced |
3 medium | potatoes, peeled, cubed |
1 medium | onion, chopped |
1 | bay leaf |
500 ml | vegetable broth |
1 l | milk |
salt and pepper, to taste |
Instructions
Melt butter in a large saucepan, add cabbage, carrots, potatoes, onion and bay leaf and stir to coat with butter.Cover and simmer over low heat 20 minutes, stirring once or twice.
Add broth and bring to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Discard bay leaf.
Heat milk separately and then add to the pan. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Stir occasionally and serve when heated through and vegetables are tender.
