Whole wheat bread rolls recipe details
Ingredients
¼ cup(s) | water |
½ cup(s) | whole wheat flour |
1 cup(s) | strong white bread flour |
½ tsp | brown sugar |
1 tsp | salt |
2 tbsp | butter |
1 sachet | dried yeast |
1 | egg yolk |
seeds of your choice, optional |
Instructions
Add all ingredients except the egg yolk and any seeds into the bread machine pan. Place in first the wet ingredients, then the dry ones, but take care that the salt doesn’t get in direct contact with the yeast. Set the bread machine to dough circle and switch to start.When the circle has finished take the dough out of the pan. On a lightly floured surface cut the dough into 8 pieces. Shape each piece into a small roll and put them side by side into a small cake pan. Cover with a kitchen towel and allow to rise for 45 minutes.
Brush the rolls with the egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds, chia seeds, poppy seeds or sunflower seeds if you wish. Bake at 200°C for 40 minutes.
Take out of the oven and leave to stand for 10 minutes, then take the rolls out of the pan and let cool down completely on a wire rack.
