Whiskey chicken recipe details
Ingredients
1 ½ kg | chicken breast, rinsed, pat dry |
2 tbsp | butter |
240 ml | whiskey |
230 g | mushrooms, diced |
1 | green onion, sliced |
120 ml | single cream |
2 tbsp | flour |
1 tbsp | lemon juice |
Instructions
In skillet brown chicken in butter for 15 minutes, turning to brown evenly. Add the 240ml whiskey, cover and simmer 30-35 minutes. Remove chicken to serving platter and keep warm.Skim fat from pan juices and add enough water to juices, to measure 180ml liquid. Return to skillet.
Stir in mushrooms and green onions and sauté until tender.
Combine cream and flour and add to mixture in skillet. Stir until thick and bubbly. Cook and stir one minute more.
Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice.
To serve, spoon sauce over chicken.
