Ingredients
250 g | flour, self-rising |
60 g | butter |
60 g | castor sugar |
1 large | egg, beaten |
100 g | a mix of sultanas and currants |
some | milk |
1 pinch(es) | salt |
1 pinch(es) | nutmeg, ground |
Instructions
Preheat oven to 190°C.Sieve the flour, pinch of salt and pinch of grated nutmeg into a bowl. In a separate bowl beat the egg.
Add the butter and add caster sugar. Mix in mixed sultanas and currants and beaten egg. Gradually add a little milk until the batter reaches a rather stiff consistency.
Bake in a shallow, greased, lined tin for about 30 minutes until well risen and golden brown
