Veal with tuna sauce recipe details
Ingredients
500 g | boneless veal loin, tied |
2 tbsp | lard |
2 tsp | salt |
some | water |
1 medium | onion, chopped |
100 g | tuna in oil |
2 tbsp | olive oil |
lemon juice | |
2 tbsp | capers |
1 tsp | salt |
1 tsp | pepper |
2 tbsp | beef stock |
Instructions
In a saucepan, sauté the veal in lard, turning occasionally, until slightly golden, season with salt and pepper, add the onions and sauté another minute, then add a little water, cover with a lid and stew over low heat until the meat is tender. Add once in a while more water, if necessary.Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
In a blender, process the tuna with the olive oil, beef stock and capers until smooth. Season to taste with salt, pepper and lemon juice.
Cut the cold veal into neat slices, arrange on a serving plate and cover the meat with the tuna sauce. Allow to cool for 2-3 hours.
Serve on a party buffet or as a starter together with baguette.
