Tuna cheese chowder recipe details
Ingredients1. Tuna drained and flaked (1can)
2. cream style corn (1small can)
3. Tabasco sauce (few drops)
4. chopped green onion (1/2, for garnish)
5. parsley (for garnish
6. Shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (3c)
7. milk (2c)
8. flour (1/4c)
9. butter or margarine (1/4c)
10. chopped celery (1/2c)
11. diced carrot (1/2c)
12. water (2c)
13. salt (to taste)
14. 2 medium potatoes, cut in small cubes
Method of preparation
1. Take a large saucepan, put water and about 1 teaspoon of salt in it. Add chopped onion, diced potatoes, carrot and celery in it. Cover the pan and keep it to boil.
2. Reduce the heat to low and keep it to simmer for about 10 minutes. Now take off the pan from the heat and keep it aside.
3. Take a small stock pot, melt butter in it. Blend the flour and mix it until it gets smooth. Gradually add milk and cook it by stirring it constantly. Keep on cooking and stirring until it gets smooth and thickened.
4. Add cheese and mix it until it gets melted. Add the cooked vegetable with their liquid, corn, tuna and Tabasco. Now add salt to taste. Garnish it with green onion and parsley.
