Tomato spring onion quiche details
- Ingredients
- One 9-inch pastry shell
- 1 cup sliced spring onions
- 4 strips bacon, cooked crisp
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 5 eggs
- 3/4 cup half & half
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3 or 4 plum tomatoes, thickly sliced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 green pepper (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook bacon until crisp, then drain and crumble. Spread sliced onions over pie crust. Top with crumbled bacon (green peppers) and cheese. Put eggs, half & half, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in the blender. Blend until well mixed. Pour egg mixture over ingredients in pie crust. Carefully arrange tomato slices on top and sprinkle with herbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.
