Ingredients
3 tbsp | butter |
3 tbsp | flour |
½ cup(s) | milk |
½ cup(s) | tomato puree |
100 g | grated cheese (Cheddar or Gouda) |
1 | egg, beaten |
salt and pepper | |
4 slice(s) | buttered toast, roasted |
Instructions
In a saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in the flour and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add the milk and cook for 2-3 more minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in the tomato purée, cheese and beaten egg. Season with salt and pepper. Cook over low heat until thick.Cover the buttered toasts with the mixture and serve immediately.
