Ingredients
320 g | canned tomatoes, chopped |
2 sprig(s) | celery |
1 small | onion, chopped |
2 | cloves |
6 | peppercorns |
60 g | butter |
60 g | flour |
1 medium | egg, beaten |
cracker crumbs | |
salt and pepper, to taste | |
oil for deep frying |
Instructions
Combine the ingredients and cook for ten minutes. Rub through a sieve.Melt butter, add flour, gradually the tomatoes, stirring constantly, and seasoning of salt, pepper and sugar as needed. Cook the mixture until quite thickened, then remove from the heat and add an egg slightly beaten.
Turn mixture onto a board dusted with cracker crumbs. Roll in crumbs, then in egg and again in crumbs. Cut into 4 pieces.
Fry until golden brown.
