Ready in: 4 hours
Ingredients
Serves: 8- 6-10 Large Country Style Ribs
- 1 (32 ounce) RealLemon(R) Concentrated Lemon Juice
- 1 Lrg. red onion, sliced
- Sauce Mixture:
- 1 (14 ounce) can pinnapple tidbits
- 36-48 ounces ketchup
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup cider vinegar
- 1/8 teaspoon Chinese Five Spice-Optional
Preparation method
Prep: 30 mins | Cook: 3 hours 30 mins1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
2. Place ribs in glass baking dish, cover ribs with “Real Lemon” lemon juice, and add sliced red onion. Then, sprinkle with pepper. Tightly cover dish with tin foil taking care not to punch hole in foil. Even a small hole will allow liquid to boil dry. Bake for 1 1/2 hours @ 450 degees.
3. While baking prepare sweet and sour sauce. Mix all ingredients in sauce pan, do not drain pineapple juice. Set burner on medium, heat mixture until hot and sugar is melted. Set sauce aside.
4. After the first 1 1/2 hours, remove baking dish from oven, then remove ribs from baking dish. Dispose of lemon mixture. Place ribs back into baking dish, cover with sauce, again cover dish with tin foil. Be careful not to punch hole in foil.
5. Bake for 1 1/2 hours @ 350 degrees. Remove from oven and let cool until bubbling stops. Serve with rice, spooning extra sauce and pineapple chunks over rice.
