Spicy Cheese Straws recipe

|150 g||ready-made puff pastry|
|1 medium||egg, beaten|
|½ tsp||hot smoked paprika, or plain paprika|
|½ tsp||ground cumin, freshly grated|
|2 tbsp||Parmesan cheese, freshly grated|
Preheat oven to Gas Mark 6, 200°C, 400°F.
Roll pastry to a rectangle approximately 16 x 10 inches, 40 x 25cm. Brush with a little egg and sprinkle the spices and Parmesan evenly over the top. Fold pastry in half lengthways. Lightly roll the pastry with a rolling pin and straighten the edges. Brush with the remaining egg wash.
Cut into strips about 3/8 inch or 1cm wide. Pick up each straw and twist the ends in opposite directions. Bake on a greased baking sheet for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.
