This is a very quick and easy bread recipe shared by a college housemate from Indiana.

Ingredients
1 cup white flour
1 cup whole wheat or rye flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 beaten egg
Topping:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup butter or margarine

Mix flours, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add milk and beaten egg. Pour into well-greased 9 x 9-inch pan. Cut topping ingredients into crumbles with pastry blender. Sprinkle with brown sugar/cinnamon mixture or spread with preserves. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
