Ingredients
Serves: 4- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 3/4 pound ground turkey
- 1 (12 ounce) bottle amber ale beer
- 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can fire-roasted crushed tomatoes
- 1 (15 1/2 ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- Salt and pepper
Preparation method
Prep: 10 mins | Cook: 8 hours1. Heat olive oil in Dutch oven or large heavy skillet over medium heat. Cook the bell pepper and onion in hot oil for 5 minutes, then add tomato paste, chili powder, and turkey. Cook, stirring, until meat is browned, about 8 minutes. Drain.
2. Transfer to a slow cooker and add all remaining ingredients. Stir to combine, then cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve.Alternate Method
Cook the chili on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours.
