Ingredients
- 2 packages yeast
- 2 shredded wheat cereal biscuits
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 teaspoons sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1/4 cup shortening (Crisco)
- 3 cups wheat flour
- 3-1/2 cups white flour
Instructions:
Dissolve yeast in 1 cup warm water.
In a large bowl, place 2 shredded wheat cereal biscuits, broken up. Add salt, sugar, and shortening.
Pour 2 cups of boiling water over this mixture and let cool.
Add yeast mixture and stir well.
Add wheat flour and white flour and mix well.
Coat top with oil.
Let rise 1-1/2 hours or so in a warm place.
Punch down and shape into rolls.
Let rise another 45 minutes.
Bake at 375 degrees for 12 minutes or until done.
