Red Wine and Tomato Sauce recipe

|2 medium||onions, finely chopped|
|100 g||carrots, finely chopped|
|3 clove(s)||garlic, minced|
|1 tbsp||tomato paste|
|240 ml||red wine|
|2 tbsp||red wine vinegar|
|1 tsp||dried rosemary|
|1 tsp||dried thyme|
|1 tsp||dried basil|
|salt and pepper, to taste|
Sauté onion, carrots and garlic in 2 teaspoons of water for 5 minutes. Place in a heavy pot along with remaining ingredients except water. Bring to a boil, cover partially, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until vegetables are tender.
Reduce heat and continue stirring as sauce thickens, about 5 minutes. If necessary, add some cornstarch, a teaspoon at a time, until sauce has desired consistency.
