Ravioli with cheese sauce recipe details
A quick sauce for ravioli that uses vegetables and pantry ingredients. A base sauce that can be enhanced by your imagination: pine nuts, broccoli, jalapeno peppers, etc.

Ingredients
Serves: 6- 2 (9 ounce) packages fresh cheese ravioli
- 4 slices thick-cut bacon
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 1/2 cup sun dried tomatoes
- 1 (10 1/2 ounce) can evaporated milk
- 1 (10 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
Preparation method
Prep: 10 mins | Cook: 15 mins1. Cook ravioli according to package directions in large pot of boiling water. Drain.
2. While the ravioli are cooking, prepare the sauce. Place bacon in a skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly browned and cooked through. Drain, crumble, and set aside.
3. In a nonstick saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon oil over a medium high flame.
4. Add onions and cook 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until onions start to brown around the edges. Turn flame down to medium.
5. Add sun-dried tomatoes, evaporated milk and cream of mushroom soup. When warm, add the nutmeg and cheddar cheese and cook until cheese has melted.
6. Serve over ravioli.
