Raisin and almond cake recipe details
Ingredients
500 g | flour |
1 pack(s) | yeast, crumbled |
75 g | sugar |
10 g | salt |
2 medium | eggs |
200 g | butter |
200 ml | milk |
100 g | raisins |
50 g | almond flakes |
½ cup(s) | icing sugar |
Instructions
In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar and a pinch of salt. In a saucepan, heat the milk until lukewarm, take from heat and melt the butter and dissolve the yeast in the milk. Beat in the eggs. Mix the milk into the flour mixture and knead until the dough is smooth and pliable. Allow to rise at a warm place until doubled in size.Soak the raisins in warm water. Sprinkle a buttered cake form with the almonds. Drain the raisins. Knock together the dough and knead in the raisins. Transfer the dough into the cake form and allow to rise for another 15 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Bake the cake for 40-50 minutes.
