The sauce is sweet and wonderful!! Great on Chinese dumplings, duck and any meat.
Ready in: 45 mins

Ingredients

Serves: 8
  • 20 prunes
  • 2 cups red wine
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons flour

Preparation method

Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 30 mins

1. Combine the prunes, red wine, water, honey, vinegar, ginger, and cinnamon in a large saucepan. Cook over low heat for 25 minutes.
2. Remove the prunes from the sauce and extract their pits. Chop pitted prunes finely in a food processor.
3. Stir the flour into the sauce; mix will.
4. Return the prunes to the sauce. Cook and stir over low heat for an additional 5 minutes.
