Poultry meat balls recipe details
Ingredients
200 g | rice |
salt and freshly ground black pepper | |
1 | onion, chopped |
1 bunch(es) | chives, chopped |
600 g | minced turkey meat |
1 | egg |
3 tbsp | breadcrumbs |
1 tbsp | oil |
1 kg | carrots, peeled and thinly sliced |
3 tbsp | butter |
250 ml | vegetable stock |
1 bunch(es) | spring onions, chopped |
2 tbsp | honey |
curry powder |
Instructions
Cook the rice in salted water until tender, then strain.Combine the minced meat with the onions, breadcrumbs and the egg. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in the chives. Knead until well combined. Shape to 8 meat balls.
In a pan, heat the oil. Fry the meat balls until brown and crispy all around.
In a saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and sauté the carrots for 2 minutes. Pour in the stock and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Add the spring onions and the honey and cook for 2 more minutes. Season to taste with curry powder, salt and pepper.
In a saucepan, melt the remaining butter. Add the rice and stir well.
Serve the meat balls with the carrots and the buttery rice.
