Potato sauerkraut soup recipe details
This is a hearty soup that is good on a cold and blustery day — or any time for that matter. When I serve this everybody comes back for seconds and thirds, so make a large batch of it if you have a large crowd to serve.

Ingredients
Serves: 6- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can (16oz) sauerkraut, drained
- 4 medium potatoes, cut into small cubes
- 4 medium carrots, chopped
- 3 stalks of celery, chopped
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 1 pound smoked or fresh kielbasa, cubed
- 4 slices of bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
- 2 tablespoons bacon grease
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 2 teaspoons dill weed
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Preparation method
Prep: 45 mins | Cook: 10 hours | Extra time: 15 mins, cooling1. In a 6 quart slow cooker, stir together all ingredients. Cover and cook on Low 10 to 12 hours, or until vegetables are tender. If necessary, skim off excess fat before serving. Enjoy!!
