Pork chops in plum sauce recipe details
Ingredients
6 | pork leg chops |
3 tsp | cornflour |
3 tbsp | dry sherry |
2 tbsp | soy sauce |
2 tbsp | hoi sin sauce |
2 tsp | sesame oil |
1 tsp | sugar |
½ tsp | salt |
120 ml | water |
180 ml | plum sauce |
2 | red chillies, dried |
2 tbsp | oil |
Instructions
Remove rind and surplus fat from chops and cut them into large strips. Put into a bowl with combined cornflour, soy sauce, hoi sin sauce, dry sherry, sugar, salt and sesame oil. Leave to stand one hour.Drain pork and reserve marinade. Heat oil in pan or wok. Add pork and toss it about 10 minutes, until it is golden brown.
Put water, plum sauce, finely put chopped red chillies and reserved marinade into a saucepan. Stir until it is boiling and remove from heat.
Add prepared sauce to wok and stir until the sauce boils and thickens. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, about 15 Minutes.
This goes well with rice.
