Pork apple stuffing recipe details
Ingredients
1 large | onion, chopped |
2 tbsp | olive oil |
1 tbsp | fresh or dried herbs: |
sage | |
parsley | |
thyme | |
basil | |
rosemary | |
6 tbsp | fresh breadcrumbs |
1 kg | pork sausage, minced |
1 medium | egg, beaten |
2 medium | apples, peeled, cored, chopped |
salt and pepper, to taste |
Instructions
Sauté chopped onion in 2 tablespoons oil for 2-3 minutes until it soft. Allow to cool.Combine the breadcrumbs, herbs, onion, and chopped apple in a large bowl.
Work the sausage meat and egg into the mixture. Season with salt and pepper. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
If stuffing is not used to stuff the bird, then bake it, covered, at 180°C for 30 minutes.
The perfect accompaniment to any pork roast.
