Poppy seed bread recipe details
- Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 2-1/2 cups sugar
- 1-1/4 cups oil
- 3 cups flour
- 1-1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1-1/2 teaspoons almond flavoring
- 1-1/2 teaspoons butter flavoring
- 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 or more teaspoons poppy seeds
- Topping:
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon almond flavoring
- 1/2 teaspoon butter flavoring
Mix all ingredients except for topping for 2 minutes with an electric mixer. Pour into 2 greased bread pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Top will crack open. Mix together topping ingredients and brush on bread while still warm. Freezes well.
