Poached plum recipe details
- Ingredients
- 12 plums (one per person) pitted and halved
- 2-1/2 cups apple juice
- 1 cup cream sherry
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
Combine all liquid flavorings in a saucepan or stockpot. Add plum halves. Bring to boil, reduce to simmer and cook covered for 5 minutes or until plums are tender but not mushy. Store liquid in non-metallic container. In morning, drain plum halves, reserving liquid. Fan the plum halves and arrange on serving plate. Sprinkle with citrus curls and sugared almonds.
