Poached pears recipe details
Ingredients
4 | pears, peeled |
240 ml | Marsala wine |
40 g | sugar |
1 ½ tbsp | lemon juice |
4 | cloves |
½ stick(s) | cinnamon |
Instructions
Take a saucepan large enough to fit all of the pears.Combine the Marsala wine, sugar, lemon juice, cloves and cinnamon in the saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat a little and now place the pears in the pan, standing upright. Cover the pan and cook for 10 to 15 minutes or until the pears can easily be pierced with a fork.
Remove the pears to a serving dish.
Let the Marsala syrup boil down until it is a thick syrup. Pour syrup over pears and serve.
