Ingredients

4  pears, peeled
240 ml Marsala wine
40 g sugar
1 ½ tbsp lemon juice
4  cloves
½ stick(s) cinnamon

Instructions

Take a saucepan large enough to fit all of the pears.

Combine the Marsala wine, sugar, lemon juice, cloves and cinnamon in the saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat a little and now place the pears in the pan, standing upright. Cover the pan and cook for 10 to 15 minutes or until the pears can easily be pierced with a fork.

Remove the pears to a serving dish.

Let the Marsala syrup boil down until it is a thick syrup. Pour syrup over pears and serve.
