Poached pears recipe details
- Ingredients
- 4 cups cranberry juice
- 4 firm, ripe pears
- 2 thin slices lemon
- 2 whole cloves
- Small cinnamon stick (approximately 2 inches)
- Dash nutmeg
Peel, core, and cut pears into eighths. Place cranberry juice in saucepan; bring to boil. Add lemon, cloves, and cinnamon stick to pan. Place pear pieces in pan. Gently simmer for about 15 to 20 minutes or until pears are tender. Remove cloves, cinnamon stick, and lemon slices. Chill overnight. Place in small serving dishes with a small amount of poaching liquid. Garnish with a mint sprig and thin slice of lemon.
