Ingredients:
8 Bosc pears, ripe, but firm
2 cups burgundy wine
2 Tablespoons lemon juice
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Grated zest of 1 lemon
1 teaspoon vanilla
Whipping cream and mint leaves
Instructions:

The sauce is delightful and doesn’t taste like wine.

Peel, halve, and core pears. Place the pears in a deep saucepan, cover, and set aside. In a 2-quart saucepan, combine the wine, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, lemon zest, and vanilla. Bring mixture to a boil. Pour the liquid over the pears and simmer slowly until the pears are tender. The cooking time will vary depending on the firmness of the pears. To serve, place the pear in a small dish, adding some sauce. Garnish with whipping cream and mint leaves. Preparation time is around 10 to 30 minutes.
