Plum chutney recipe details
Ingredients
1 tbsp | peanut oil |
1 medium | red onion, diced |
½ tsp | salt |
¼ tsp | freshly ground pepper |
½ | jalapeno, finely chopped |
1 tbsp | brown sugar |
2 tbsp | white wine vinegar |
4 | plums, pitted, chopped |
juice of 1 orange | |
1 tbsp | hoisin sauce |
Instructions
Heat peanut oil in a medium saucepan. Sauté onion until tender, about 4 minutes. Add salt, pepper, jalapeno and brown sugar.As the sugar starts to caramelize, add the vinegar and continue to cook for 2-3 minutes.
Add the plums, orange juice and hoisin sauce and cook until plums are tender.
Serve with barbecued chicken.
