Plum and port sauce recipe details
Ingredients
100 g sugar |
120 ml water |
500 g plums, pitted, chopped |
2 tsp grated orange zest |
2 tbsp port |
1 tsp lemon juice |
1 pinch(es) ground cinnamon |
1 pinch(es) salt |
Instructions
In a large saucepan combine the sugar and water. Cook over mendium heat and bring to a boil, stirring, for 5 minutes.
Reduce heat and add the plums and the zest. Cook for 10 minutes, or until the plums are soft.
Remove from heat and cool slightly. Transfer to a blender and process until smooth. Stir in the port, lemon juice, cinnamon and a pinch of salt.
Let the sacue to cool and chill, covered, for 2 hours.
Serving suggestions:Serve with pound cake, fresh fruit, ice cream.Preparation time:
