Pecan sandies recipe details
- Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons water
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup confectioners sugar
Cream butter and sugar together. Add water and vanilla; mix well. Blend in flour and nuts. Chill at least four hours.
Roll dough into balls or shape into rectangles, approximately 3/4 x 2 inches. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 325 degrees for 20 minutes or until very lightly browned. Remove carefully to cooling rack; allow to cool slightly. Roll in confectioners’ sugar.
Yield: Makes 2 to 3 dozen cookies depending upon whether you shape them into balls, rectangles, or a combination of the two.
