Pat's western bread 'n' cheese recipe details
- Ingredients
- 4 slices bread
- Mustard
- 1/2 of a 7-ounce can of chopped green chilies
- 1/2 pound grated Monterey Jack cheese
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1-1/2 cups milk
- 1 pinch black pepper
- 1 teaspoon cilantro
Spread slices with mustard of your choice then cut the bread in 1-inch strips and place in an 8 x 8-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with chilies and cheese. Then, combine and pour over eggs, milk, black pepper, and cilantro. Bake at 350 degrees until puffed and golden brown (about 30 minutes). Serve with your favorite salsa. It is as good for dinner as it is for breakfast.
