Pasta with basil pesto recipe details
Ingredients
500 g | pasta |
500 g | tomatoes |
150 g | Pesto, basil – see database |
3 tbsp | mixed seeds from sunflower, pumpkin, and pine nuts |
2 piece(s) | red chillies |
2 stalk(s) | fresh basil leaves |
100 g | Parmesan cheese |
salt, black pepper |
Instructions
Cook pasta in a big pot of salted water until done, drain, but allow some cooking water to remain, and put into a big bowl.While the pasta is cooking, prepare the sauce:
Roast seeds for a few minutes in a pan without oil. Cut tomatoes in quarters, chop chillies. Pick basil leaves from the stems. Mix the pesto with a few tablespoons from the pasta water.
Pour sauce over the pasta and mix well. Season with black pepper and salt to taste. Top with some grated Parmesan cheese, and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
