Ingredients
4 slice(s) | white Italian style bread |
100 ml | extra virgin olive oil |
3 tbsp | balsamic vinegar |
1 clove(s) | garlic, crushed |
5 | ripe tomatoes |
1 small | red onion |
5 leaves | fresh basil |
salt and pepper to taste |
Instructions
Remove the crust from the bread. Cut into even sized cubes and bake until golden and dry. Let cool.Combine oil, vinegar and garlic in a bowl, add the bread and toss. Let soak until the bread retains a slight crunchy texture.
Roughly chop the tomatoes, thinly slice the onion and add both to the bowl.
Tear basil leaves into small pieces. Season to taste and serve immediately.
