Ingredients
Makes: 1 steak- 6 tablespoons ancho chili powder
- 4 teaspoons brown sugar
- 4 teaspoons black pepper
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 strip steak (or more)
- Salsa
Preparation method
Prep: 5 mins | Cook: 10 mins1. In a small bowl, combine ancho chili powder, sugar, pepper, garlic cloves, and salt. Use this spice rub to season both sides of the steak.
2. Preheat your indoor dual contact grill to medium-high.
3. Place steaks on the grill. Close lid. Grill for 5 to 8 minutes for medium-rare doneness, depending on thickness.
4. Take the steak off the grill. Let the meat rest 2 to 3 minutes to allow the juices to reabsorb into the steak. Serve with salsa spooned over the top as desired.Note
Recipe makes just over 1/2 cup spice rub, enough for about 13 steaks.
