Morning medley cassoullette recipe details
- Ingredients
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1 medium onion
- 8 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2-1/4 cups milk
- salt & pepper to taste
- 1 cup each cheddar and Swiss cheese, grated and mixed
- 1 pound breakfast meat, cooked and drained (optional)
- 1 loaf firm white bread, sliced, with crusts trimmed
Combine the first seven ingredients in a blender. In a buttered 9 x 13-inch casserole, layer bread, meat, and cheese and then pour blender egg mix over layers. Allow to soak overnight. Bake at 350 degrees until nicely browned and puffed, about 30 to 40 minutes.
Alternately: Cube the bread instead of slicing. Divide ingredients between 4 to 6 cassoullettes. No need to soak overnight. Bake each cassoullette as each guest is ready for breakfast, about 15 minutes. Garnish with paprika.
