Monticello praline french toast recipe details
- Ingredients:
- 1 large loaf of home-style white bread sliced one-inch think (8 slices)
- 8 eggs
- 3/4 cup milk
- 3/4 half & half
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 stick of butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 Tablespoons light corn syrup
Arrange bread in a greased 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Mix together eggs, milk, half & half, vanilla, cinnamon and baking soda and pour over the bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
In the morning melt butter in a sauce pan, add brown sugar and corn syrup and bring to a boil. Pour over the bread, sprinkle with pecans and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
