Minced beef pie recipe details
Ingredients
600 g | minced beef |
2 tbsp | vegetable oil |
1 medium | onion, chopped |
2 clove(s) | garlic, minced |
2 tbsp | flour |
2 tbsp | tomato puree |
1 tsp | English mustard |
80 g | mushrooms, chopped |
300 ml | ale |
400 g | puff pastry |
milk, for glazing |
Instructions
Brown the beef in oil over low heat in a pan. Add the onion and garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Stir in the flour and tomato puree and cook a further 2 minutes. Add the mustard, mushrooms and brown ale. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Cool.Turn the mixture into a pie dish.
Roll the pastry out so that it covers the pie dish. Press firmly onto the dish and brush with milk to glaze.
Preheat oven to 200°C.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the pie is golden.
