Mary baker's irish soda bread recipe details
- Ingredients
- 3 cups sifted flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 Tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 Tablespoon caraway seeds
- 1 cup raisins
- 2 eggs
- 1-1/2 cups buttermilk
- 2 Tablespoons butter, melted
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour loaf pan. Combine sifted flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, sugar, caraway seeds, and raisins. In another bowl, beat eggs. Add buttermilk and melted butter to eggs and mix well. Stir liquid mixture into dry ingredients until entire mixture is moistened. Beat by hand, about 50 strokes. Batter will be thick. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
