- Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 1 clove garlic
- 1-1/2 cups catsup
- 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
- 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
- 4 Tablespoons apple cider syrup
- salt
- cayenne pepper (to taste)
- 2 Tablespoons butter
Instructions:
This is a favorite recipe using apple cider syrup. To prepare syrup, boil fresh cider (not pasteurized) for 8 to 10 hours over a low flame until dark and thick. This can be stored, unprocessed, in the refrigerator for months, or canned by a simple waterbath process.
Brown onions and garlic in butter until clear. Add the rest of the ingredients. Simmer for 20 minutes. Use on chicken or ribs.
