Ingredients for Bread:
1-1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 Tablespoons grated lemon peel (Meyer Lemons preferred)
3/4 cup dairy sour cream
Ingredients for glaze:
1/4 cup sugar
Juice from 1 lemon, about 3 tablespoons


Bread – Mix dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt) together and set aside. Cream butter and sugar. Adds eggs one at a time and beat well. Add lemon peel and beat. Add dry ingredients alternating with sour cream and beat well. Pour into greased loaf pan and bake at 350 degree for 50 to 60 minutes until tested with long toothpick or knife blade. Let cool for 10 minutes.

Glaze– Use a toothpick to poke holes in the top of bread. Mix sugar and lemon juice together. Pour over top of bread and let soak into the loaf via the toothpick holes. Cool and remove from pan.

Makes:1 Loaf
