Lemon Poppy Seed Bread

- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1-1/4 cups sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 3 eggs
- 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon yellow food coloring (optional)
- 1-1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 Tablespoons poppy seeds
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon lemon extract
- 3 Tablespoons melted butter
- Glaze Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1-1/2 Tablespoons lemon juice
- 3 Tablespoons melted butter
Combine all glazeingredients and set aside.
In large bowl, combine all of the main ingredients listed above. Beat at medium speed until well mixed, about 2 to 3 minutes. Pour batter into greased baking pans and bake for 40 minutes in preheated 350 degree oven. Cool in the pan, about 10 minutes, then remove and pour glaze over warm bread and let cool completely.
