Lemon flan recipe details
- Ingredients:
- 4 to 5 slices of fresh white bread, crusts removed, in small pieces (2 cups).
- 2 cups milk
- 2 eggs
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons grated lemon zest
- 1-1/2 teaspoons lemon oil or extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter 1-1/2 quart baking dish or 4 individual ramekins.
Put pieces of bread into large bowl and pour milk over. Let stand 5 minutes. Beat eggs until will mixed, add to bread. Stir in sugar, salt, lemon zest, and lemon extract. Beat until well mixed. Set shallow baking pan large enough to hold dish into oven. Pour in 1/2 inch of hot water. Pour pudding mixture into baking pan. Bake for 1 to 1-1/4 hours until knife comes out clean when inserted into center.
Serve warm or cold garnished with whipped cream, fresh strawberries, and sliced kiwi.
