Lasagna-Style Spaghetti

Lasagna is delicious, but truly a chore to make. If you don’t have time for the extended layering process that you’d typically leave to a stonemason, pinch hit this simpler solution.

Ingredients
Serves: 12- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 12 ounces spaghetti
- 2 cups cottage cheese, or ricotta
- 2 zucchini, grated
- 1 brown onion, sliced
- 1 (14 ounce) jar chunky spaghetti sauce
- 2 cups jack cheese, or mozzarella
Preparation method
Prep: 25 mins | Cook: 1 hour 15 mins1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F and spray a coat of nonstick cooking spray onto a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Pour in the salt and the garlic salt, then add the spaghetti. Cook 7 to 9 minutes (until they are almost but not quite fully cooked), then drain and rinse with cold water .
3. Pour the cooked noodles, cottage cheese, zucchini, onion, and spaghetti sauce in the baking dish and stir them about.
4. Top with jack cheese and bake for 45 to 50 minutes.
